Fort Pike was built in 1816 and was named after Zebulon Pike of Pike's Peak fame. The area was abandoned in 1890 and is said to be haunted by the ghost of a sergeant. Witnesses have reported a feeling of being watched and the sounds of heavy boots walking the floors. The fort was unfortunately extremely damaged during Hurricane Katrina.
