There are a couple of different stories surrounding this bridge. Some say when you drive over the bridge, your radio will go on and off, and others have seen a ghostly girl in a white dress hovering over the bridge.

  • Very scary experience.

I went years ago after my 12 year old daughter read about it. It was approximately 8pm when she and I, along with my mother in law and her sister left St. Martin parish to go find the bridge. I wasn't scared, until I drove down the dead of darkness road. Seemed my bright head lights had become a flashlight. We could see the bridge ahead of us and decided not to park on the bridge. I stopped the car in the road and turned the motor off leaving the lights on so we could see. We walked on the bridge asking her to show herself, about 3 minutes later, a white, foggy image appeared. The radio in the car started playing loudly and we got really scared!!! Ran to the car, got in and tge damn thing wouldn't start!! Aftet 3 tries, it started and we got.out of there!! I was really skeptical about tjis before, now I know the truth!! If I had to give a time, I would guess it was around 2001-2003.

  • Marland's vs Cretien

Marland's Bridge people tend to not have radio issues, but see a woman or a ball of light. I saw the woman once when I was a kid with my Dad late one night. Just down the road though is Cretien Point Plantation where the pirate Jean Lafitte was killed and it's very well known that radios and car horns get messed with when passing by there. The plantation owner has also reported these things happening shortly after any time someone mocks Jean Lafitte within the house. I used to regularly pass it when heading to a friend's house as a teen and one of the times my car horn started going off and wouldn't stop until I had turned the corner half a block away.

Have been there and crossed the bridge on several occasions. Nothing out of the ordinary to report.
